About this Event
Sponsored by Hong Kong Council of Social Services
This global dialogue is part of our Asia narrative building programme.
Community-led innovation refers to grassroots networks and organisations that are deeply embedded within the communities, and who seek to tackle the everyday challenges experienced by individuals and neighbourhoods by creative solutions and approaches. It is driven by everyday people pioneering new solutions and developing their skills to make a difference which will benefit others in the community.
During COVID-19, there are countless citizen’s actions in supporting the community. In this dialogue, we have invited Bosco Ng from WEDO Global to share their initiatives in HK in supporting ethnic minorities and Sanon Wangsrangboon from Locall Thailand to discuss how they support local businesses to survive in this difficult time.
How do we harness the collective intelligence of the citizens and continue in the post-pandemic era? Let’s join us for the dialogue!
Contributors
Bosco Ng, Founder, WEDO Global
Bosco is the Founder and Director of WEDO GLOBAL, an award-winning social enterprise that aims to advocate multicultural education by bridging the cultural gaps, reduce negative perceptions and racial discrimination in order to achieve social inclusion.
Bosco had acquired extensive experience in cross-cultural communication and management before he started his journey in social entrepreneurship. He represented Hong Kong to participate in the Youth Peace Network program in Canada together with youth leaders from 17 countries. Bosco and his peers developed multicultural education programs for children and youth in Canada to raise their global cultural awareness. After returning to Hong Kong, he realised that there was a lack of a platform for cross-cultural communication and understanding, leading to perceptions and misunderstandings among people of different cultural backgrounds. He was motivated to establish WEDO GLOBAL, a social enterprise that aims to address related social issues.

Moreover, in these 4 recent years, he also co-founded many social businesses under the young urbanist network called "SATARANA" who has the same vision in making “INCLUSIVE CITY” such as Mayday! a social venture on public Transportation promotion, Trawell Thailand a social business to promote local tourism, Attention! a social campaigner who helps to make attention to social issues, and lately Locall Thailand a connecting community platform who helps small vendors engage through food delivery during COVID pandemic.
